Northwest Indiana’s Superstar is committed to protecting the health of our performers, judges, and patrons.

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to be an evolving global health situation with much uncertainty. To address this crisis, NWI Superstar leadership will continue to meet regularly to carefully monitor this evolving situation. NWI Superstar relies on authoritative sources of information such as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local health departments, the World Health Organization (WHO), and Ministries of Health and the relevant U.S. Embassies for our global locations.

NWI Superstar has provided instructions from the CDC regarding best practices for prevention below. Notices to reinforce this information with both staff and participants is emailed regularly to ensure safety. Please view the following information as reference.

Given our shows operate at high capacity, as an audience member, the proper wearing of masks is still strongly recommended at all times in our host venues including while in line to enter venues and throughout performances. NWI Superstar’s COVID-19 protocol may continue to change without notice as we continue to evaluate all protocols for the health and comfort of our patrons.

PERFORMERS AND JUDGES

Below is a summary of requirements and recommendations for performers and judges to ensure ongoing safety at our shows and venues. While many of the guidelines below are recommendations and should be followed to reduce the risk of exposure, requirements are indicated by the word “must” or “required.” Please note that these guidelines are subject to change as additional pertinent information arises. This information is intended to supplement the general guidance from the CDC located here.

Preventive Measures: Reducing the Risk of Exposure

Masking
Masks are strongly recommended for performers at practices and while off stage at performances: Masks are strongly recommended, but not required, in our venues.

Testing
It is recommended that performers that unmask indoors during performances be tested 1-2 times a week. More frequent testing is more protective. Testing is not recommended for performers that tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days, as long as they remain asymptomatic.

Vaccination
NWI Superstar encourages all performers to stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines to reduce their risk of getting sick or severely ill with COVID-19.

Distancing
Currently, there are no COVID-related occupancy limits or required physical distancing measures. Wherever possible, take steps to distance oneself. If feasible, especially in dressing rooms and backstage try to maintain a safe distance.

Exposure
If you are feeling symptoms of COVID or have come in contact with someone who is positive please notify the Northwest Indiana’s Superstar staff at info@nwisuperstar.com.
